FRILLY AND FUNKIE MARCH CHALLENGE NEGLECTED DIES

I would like to enter this tag into the Frilly and Funkie March Challenge Neglected dies.  The challenge and superior samples from the F&F DT may be found HERE.  There are some pretty amazing art works for this challenge, so much so, that it makes me wonder WHY some of these dies are "neglected".

I have a favorite neglected die which is the TH Alterations Movers & Shapers MINI CLIPBOARD AND BOTTOM.  The die was a little confusing as to how it is supposed to be used. So I wrote to Mr. Holtz and he was kind enough to send a link to a video explaining how to use it.  The video may be seen HERE.  The die makes a real clipboard that is functional.   I started my tag out with a large manila tag and using TH paper, TH stamps, TH layering stencils, TH DI's and DS's, prepared the background.  I then ran the tag through the Big Kick using the clipboard die after I decided how big I wanted the clip board to be.  The top of the clipboard and the bottom piece were then painted using TH DS brushed pewter.

Next step was to prepare the piece to slip into the clip board.  Again, using TH stamps and DI's, I prepared the a post card and then layered it with 2 patterned papers.  The post card is not glued down, but rather is held by the clip and bottom pieces.

The second die I used was TH Alterations Movers and Shapers Vintage Alarm Clock.   I cut the alarm clock out of grunge board and inked it with Fired Brick DS and then distressed it with Black Soot.  This is the first time I've used this sweet die.  Hope it's not neglected from now on.

My project theme is Live The Life You've Imagined, which Mr. Holtz is always encouraging us to do.  There are tickets tucked onto the clipboard and the post card is tabbed "Notes".  I cut the tab from TH Tiny Tabs and Tags.  I can envision someone keeping this Post Card clipboard and adding things to it as they dream of things to do.

Thank you for the opportunity to enter the F and F challenge.  This tag is also being entered into A Vintage Journey's inaugural challenge "All Things Tim" and Country View Challenge Paper Chase.

  1. Fantastic tag Jay ! I was a little confused with the clipboard die too (which is also in my neglected pile!). Love how you've used it here and the addition on the alarm clock is fabulous. Thanks for joining us at Frilly and Funkie. Sue C x
